Content Best Practices
Write internal updates people actually read
The platform handles delivery — these conventions help your content land.
Write for skimmers
- Lead with the takeaway in the first sentence.
- Keep posts under 300 words; link out for detail.
- Use headings and bullets so readers can scan.
Use priority levels honestly
| Priority | Use for | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| High | Time-sensitive, action-required | Push + email + in-app |
| Normal | Regular announcements | In-app + digest |
| Low | FYI, optional reading | In-app only |
If everything is High priority, nothing is. Most posts should be Normal.
Title formula
A good title answers "why should I care?" in under ten words.
| Weak | Strong |
|---|---|
| Update | New PTO policy starts July 1 |
| Important | Office closed Friday for maintenance |
| Please read | Action needed: confirm your benefits by Friday |
Accessibility
- Add alt text to every image.
- Don't rely on color alone to convey meaning.
- Spell out acronyms on first use for new hires.
